Breton Music for the Celtic Harp
In this course, participants acquire knowledge of various Breton music styles and their history. They also learn howto make simple arrangements and how to accompany songs.

Christine Mérienne (Bretagne)
Christine finished her studies of Celtic harp with the Prix d’Excellence at the conservatory of Vincennes. She specialized in the traditional music of the Celtic countries and intensified her knowledge of the traditional music of Brittany, where she subsequently won several awards. (Prix O’Carolan in Dinan, Prix d’Honneur de l’UFAM). 1993 she started to teach Celtic harp in Brittany. She specialized in accompaniment of singing and storytelling and composes and performes her own songs. 1994 she started the Duo Sedrenn with Elisa Vellia. She also accompanies the Scottish storyteller Fiona Macleod and the Breton poet Jean Louis Le Craver. Christine teaches traditional Breton music aurally and encourages the students to use their own creativity.
