Robin Huw Bowen (Wales)
discovered the triple harp, a harp with three rows of parallel strings, in 1980 while he was working in the Welsh National Library. Afterwards, he carried out intensive research on this rare Welsh instrument, studying old manuscripts and publications and learning the complicated techniques of playing it with various harp players. Today, he is the only professional triple harpist in the world. His repertoire is a reflection of traditional Welsh music. At one point, the tradition was almost lost, but with his enthusiasm, Bowen has breathed new life into Welsh music.
