Irish Music for the Celtic Harp
Participants in this course are introduced to a selected repertoire of traditional Irish music. They learn special rhythms, ornaments and typical melodies.

Catherine Rhatigan (Ireland)
Catherine is from Sligo, an Irish region in which musical tradition has been intensively cultivated to the present day. She studied Celtic Harp with Janet Harbison, and she is a member of the noted Belfast Harp Orchestra, with which she has frequently toured and recorded a CD. In addition, she is a member of various ensem- bles that cultivate traditional Irish music. As an expert in tra- ditional Irish harp music, she gives lectures both in Ireland and abroad. She also writes for the musical theater, and her play «About Harps, Harpers and Big Houses» in which the old harp traditions of Ireland come to life, and which has been per- formed in Ireland and the Uni- ted States.
